Poni Divers and The Department of Fisheries are jointly organising the first ever, Ocean Week Brunei, a national week of celebration of ocean events, learning and discovery from 31 May to 9 June 2024 with the main event on the World Ocean Day, 8 June 2024. This event aims to bring together businesses, government stakeholders, organisations, and academic institutions to discuss marine conservation challenges and solutions, locally and around the world. It also aims to inspire the next generation of ocean guardians and equip them with the skills to build a sustainable future for the blue economy of Brunei Darussalam. Events include the largest national coral planting day, reef building workshops, a youth advocacy program, marine conservation activities at sea for the community, beach cleanups, and a conference and policy dialogue on ocean sustainability with international experts.
